As 2017 draws to a close I’m taking a look back through the five most popular blog posts from the last twelve months.
In September this year I had an interesting conversation about punctuation with a friend which set me thinking about how much of the punctuation we use is correct, appropriate, and strictly necessary.
Punctuation creates pauses and groupings in the words that should help achieve clarity. But when excessive punctuation peppers the page with dots and dashes that need not be there it can be very unattractive and distracting – obscuring your message, rather than clarifying it. Read more…

For the last nine years Scottish Borders Heritage Festival has been growing in size at an impressive rate – developing from a single weekend to a whole month. Now, with plans to build on the success of the festival, and develop a range of other activities to support local heritage, Scottish Borders Heritage was born.
