Annual report for the OPCCN

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk asked me to design their annual report for 2024/25 in line with their updated brand guidelines. The report would be published as a PDF, so needed to be designed to be read on screen and accessible to users of assistive technology.

Project notes

The design uses limited images, shapes and carefully-chosen text elements to bring colour into the design.

For accessibility, I used the brand colours with the best contrast for the majority of the text, reserving the green for the larger page headings and graphic elements. The text is also at a good size with a comfortable line length and open line spacing.

I remediated the PDF to pass programmatic checks for PDF/UA conformance, carried out manual checks and tested the user experience via NVDA screen reader.
